Mikaela

Studio host

Mikaela grew up just two blocks away from The Dance Floor location, has a creative background in landscape architecture, and believes dancing is the best form of both exercise and therapy. When she discovered The Dance Floor about two years ago, it was an understatement to say she felt right at home!

During her childhood, Mikaela did brazilian dance at World Dance Center (now known as BrasArte in Oakland), in addition to tap, jazz, and contemporary. Today, her dancing happy place is Zumba.

As a host, Mikaela is here to welcome new and seasoned members into The Dance Floor’s vibrant community. When she’s not dancing, you can find her sipping coffee with a true crime novel, camping in the redwoods with her husband, and letting her creative juices flow through her freelance illustration and surface pattern design practice (Mikaela Karthik Design).
